Du point de vue médicale, l’objectif est de détruire les adénomes des parathyroïdes (petites glandes situées en périphérie de la thyroïde), qui sont à l’origine de divers problèmes de santé. Actuellement, les spécialistes procèdent à des ablations par chirurgie. Theraclion propose un appareil qui permet de lyser les adénomes en exploitant des ultrasons focalisés (HIFU), ce qui constitue une solution moins invasive.
