| Comment | The ringed planet, Saturn. This is one of my very first results and still pretty good; I have experimented with other magnifications, filters, a webcam, but it's difficult to do much better on a single frame without running into the telescope's diffraction limit.
This particular picture was taken from inside Paris. People are often surprised that I see anything at all amidst the city's light pollution, but planets in general are bright enough that it's not much of an issue—unlike for fainter objects such as nebulæ and star clusters. Picture taken with a 102-mm F/6.5 refractor and compact camera; afocal setup, 5-mm eyepiece IIRC. |
