I joined Télécom Paris in October 2019 as an associate professor in the optical transmission team (GTO: Groupe de Transmission Optique) of the LTCI lab (Laboratoire de Traitement et de Communication de l’Information). I am currently co-supervising PhD thesis projects dealing with monitoring optical fiber networks and optical fiber sensing. I teach several courses at Télécom Paris, mainly on digital communications and optical transmission systems. I hold M.Eng. degrees in electrical engineering from the Lebanese University and telecom engineering from Télécom Paris (2011), and a PhD in communications and electronics from Télécom Paris (2015). Previously, I worked as a research scientist at Nokia (ex- Alcatel-Lucent) Bell Labs from 2015 until 2019. I am also a regular reviewer for several scientific journals, serve as a TPC member of the European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC) since 2022 and will serve as a TPC member of the Optical Fiber Communication (OFC) conference from 2027. My research funding sources include grants from public and private sectors, and national CIFRE agreements (joint PhD supervision with industrial partners).
