. Message from the chairman of COST 2100, June 15, 2007 Dear COST 2100 Colleagues,
some information about the next MCM and a Call for contributions for a session on Cross Layer Issues, follow.
New announcements are published on the Action website (Open positions at UCL).
*** NEXT MCM: Venue, date, deadlines
Let me remind you that the 3rd MCM will be held in Duisburg, Germany.
It will start on Mon 10th, 9 am, ending Wed12th, no later than 4 pm.
Concerning the possible organisation of tutorials the day before, I will provide you information soon.
All information is on the Action website under

Local information is partly already available.
Hotels should be booked no later than August 5th.
It will be possible to register to the 3rd MCM and request TD numbers after July 1st, through the Members' Area
of the Action website (for those who register to the Action before).
Deadline for both registration to the MCM and TD number requests is August 25th.
*** NEXT MCM: Dedicated Session on Cross-Layer Issues - Call for Contributions
We discussed in the past the possibility to have one session in the programme of each MCM,
dedicated to specific technical issues of general interest.
In Lisbon a SIG on Cross Layer Issues was proposed and its creation deferred because of
the need to discuss more thoroughly the SIG goals.
A specific plenary session, whose duration will be defined later,
will be dedicated to Cross-Layer Issues of Wireless Communication Systems,
where a general discussion about the topic
and the possible research investigations to be carried out within COST2100, will be held.
I am inviting you to submit TDs about this topic, or even just bring your own ideas/contributions to the session.
The TDs should be useful to get some indication of what work partners would like to present in this area.
*** REGISTRATION TO COST2100
As announced last Monday, you are now allowed / encouraged to register to the Action.
Have in mind that all attempts made to register BEFORE my last mail sent past Monday,
have been discarded, as announced several times.
Tens of requests have been already received. As we intend to manually check all data submitted
to create coherent database, processing of requests requires some time. Be patient please.
