Telecom ParisTech is opening an associate professor position
with skills and academic records related to safety critical and / or embedded
system engineering. This position is aimed to strengthen cooperation between S3
(System, Software and Services) and SEN (Digital Electronic
Systems) research teams respectively part of Computer Science and Network
(INFRES) department, and Communication and Electronic (COMELEC) department.
Such collaborations are highly encouraged through the Confience Numrique initiative
initiated at the Institut Mines Telecom scale.

Position Description
Research
- Manage and
carry out theoretical and applied research in the field of safety critical
and / or embedded systems.
- Elaborate
and get involved in innovating research projects (e.g. industrial or academic funding
with national or international scope). The applicant is expected to
consider participating to the IRT Systmes
Complexes (a research
institute gathering ALSTOM, Renault, Peugeot, ...)
- Get
involved in research chairs (creation and animation). Participating to the
chair ISIC would be highly appreciated (nota ISIC involve many of the top
ranked engineering schools, Ecole Polytechique, ENSTA ParisTech, Telecom ParisTech, and major industrial partners such as THALES,
Dassault Aviation, DGA, ...)
- Reinforce
industrial and academic collaborations within the institution (e.g.
between S3 and SEN teams), and also partners settled on the campus of Saclay. (LIX, LRI, INRIA, INRIA, IRT SystemX, ...) or abroad
(SEI/CMU, ...)
Teaching
- Get
involved in lecture design for teaching in academic or engineering
curriculum. Update
or design new lectures or teaching tools. Participate to lecture
coordination and scheduling
- Get involved
in teaching activities. Give lectures and supervise study or lab sessions in engineering
curriculum (main curriculum of
the school, taught in French, hence spoken highly is expected), in
formation continue with mastres
spcialiss , and in curriculum from
Paris-Saclay University or Pierre and Marie
Curie University (Paris 6 University).
- Get
involved in internships management and assessment (defense, supervision).

PhD or equivalent (highly recommended)

- Expected expertise : good knowledge of issues, theory, and best practices of
safety critical software or hardware design and use. Academic skills and
records in formal methods and verification, or dependability, or
concurrent and embedded system design expected.
- Good
publication record (Top ranked conference and journals) in its field of
expertise. Experience in research project welcome.
- Non
trivial record of teaching in higher education in one of the expected
field of expertise of the position (cited above)
- Some
knowledge in technologies of communication (as a tool for teaching or
carrying out research)
- Fluent in
spoken and written english
