Travel information

There are two international airports that serve Paris: Orly (ORY) and Charles de Gaulle (CDG). Both airports are equivalent to get to the conference site. Flights schedule to Paris can be consulted at Yahoo travel pages - Paris. Paris has also also many train connections to major european cities. Train schedules can be consulted at the SNCF (French railway compagny) web server.
 

How to reach to ENST from Paris airports

ENST is within ten minutes walk from the "CORVISART" metro station (on line 6). In Paris the metro and the suburban commuter (RER) are interconnected; you can travel from one system to the other with the same ticket. However, while any trip on the metro system costs one ticket, the price of the trip on the RER system depends on the distance covered. Orly Airport (ORY) is about 20 minutes south of Paris and Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) is about 40 minutes northeast. To get from these airports to ENST you may proceed as follows:

From Charles de Gaulle Airport:

• Depending on your Terminal of arrival (1 or 2), you may walk to the RER (train) station or you may need to take a free bus shuttle.
• Buy an RER ticket to Paris-section-urbaine (metro ticket included). It costs about 50 FF.
• Take the RER B. Get off at station "DENFERT-ROCHEREAU", then take metro line 6, towards "NATION", and get off at "CORVISART" station.
• ENST is within 10 minutes walk from there (see map).
• The RER trip between the airport and Paris ENST takes about an hour.

Taxi from Charles de Gaulle to ENST is about 200-250 FF on the meter (there may be some small additional charge for luggage).

From Orly airport:

Take the ORLYBUS (about 30FF) towards "DENFERT-ROCHEREAU'', get off at ``Rene Coty'' station. Then it's a 10 minutes walk to ENST.

Taxi from Orly to ENST is about 80-150 FF on the meter (there may be some small additional charge for luggage).

Touristic information

ENST is located in the southern part of Paris, in the "Butte aux Cailles" (hill of quails) district. "Butte aux Cailles" is one of the old quarters and the third highest hill in Paris. The area has a "village'' atmosphere with a pedestrian quarter and many pubs and restaurants. ENST is close (15 minutes walk) to the Chinese area and not far (15 minutes by bus, line 21) from the Latin Quarter.
