I joined Télécom Paris in October 2019 as an assistant professor in the optical transmission team (GTO: Groupe de Transmission Optique) of the LTCI lab (Laboratoire de Traitement et de Communication de l’Information). I am currently co-supervising four PhD thesis projects dealing with mitigation of non-linear effects in fiber optic communications and monitoring optical fiber networks. I teach several courses at the school including a module on optical fiber transmissions in the Réseaux Optiques et Systèmes Photoniques (ROSP) M2 master program. I hold M.Eng. degrees in electrical engineering from the Lebanese University and telecom engineering from Télécom Paris in 2011, and a PhD in communications and electronics from Télécom Paris in 2015. I worked as a research scientist at Nokia (ex- Alcatel-Lucent) Bell Labs from 2015 until 2019. I publish my research results in various leading journals and conferences in the field of communications. I am also a regular reviewer for several scientific journals and serve as a TPC member of the 2022 European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC) that will take place in Basel, Switzerland. My research funding sources include national CIFRE agreements (joint PhD supervision with industrial partners) and grants from public and private sectors.
