UE 3.9a Molecular Imaging

Outline: Description of the growing field of molecular imaging.
Description of specific targets for molecular imaging and the way visualize them.
The targets will be illustrated in the context of a specific medical field and when applicable to therapeutic implications.

Course Schedule:
Lecture 1: Definition of molecular imaging.
Lecture 2: Membrane,  cellular metabolism and intercellular interactions,
Lecture 3: Value of molecular imaging in biology and medicine,
Lecture 4: In vivo maging modalities and multimodal imaging
Lecture 5: Receptor imaging (Applications in neurology)
Lecture 6: Anti-bodies and membrane motifs (Applications in oncology)
Lecture 7: Cellular metabolism, trans-membrane transport and viability (Applications in cardiology)
Lecture 8: Non-membranous motifs and enzyme targets (Applications in liver fibrosis and arterial thrombosis)
Lecture 9: Cell Migration and tissue (re)generation,  Cell therapy,
Lecture 10: Imaging of macrophagic cells

Lecture 11: Drugs tagging , evaluation of therapeutic effects

Lecture 12:

Evaluation: written exams (100%)

n the basic sciences (mathematics, physics, chemistry) and applied mathematics (signal-processing, numerical analysis).
