TELECOM ParisTech is looking for a candidate willing to lead research activities in the domain of statistical processing for sensor networks. This associate professor position aims to develop this activity in the STA [1] (statistics) group of the department of signal and image processing (Traitement du signal et des Images, TSI) by involving other researchers of the group and from other departments of TELECOM ParisTech. The position also includes teaching activities in probability and statistical signal processing.
Sensor networks raise and will continue to attract worldwide growing interest in various research fields including communications, computer science and network modeling but also information processing. In these networks, the information and decision making is distributed and thus relies on various new advances in statistical modeling and learning.
The STA research group enjoys a high international reputation in a variety of fields of methodological and applied statistics including statistical learning, Monte Carlo methods and time series analysis. Several members of our group are currently involved in projects related to sensor networks, including, for instance, statistical anomaly detection in the Internet, and localization and tracking based active sensors.
In addition to the following required qualifications:
the candidate should have a good publishing record in fields related to statistical processing for sensor networks, such as estimation and design in irregular sampling, spatial statistics, information theory in distributed systems.
Remuneration. At the Institut TELECOM, compensation is attractive and commensurate with experience and demonstrated performance. The basic annual salary minimum indicators for an associate research professor with little experience in the classification is €38000 gross. To this salary is added a variable annual allowance (0 to 12% of basic annual salary).
