  • Joint audiovisual processing and multimedia content analysis

Short bio

 

Slim Essid is an Associate Professor at the Department of Image and Signal Processing-TSI of TELECOM ParisTech with the AAO group. He received the state engineering degree from the École Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Tunis, Tunisia, in 2001, the M.Sc. (D.E.A.) degree in digital communication systems from the École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications, Paris, France, in 2002, and the Ph.D. degree from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6), in 2005, after completing a thesis on automatic audio classification. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed conference and journal papers with more than 50 distinct co-authors, and has served as a program committee member or as a reviewer for various audio and multimedia conferences and journals, for instance, IEEE transactions on Audio, Speech, and Language Processing, on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, on Multimedia and EURASIP Journal on Audio, Speech, and Music Processing. He has been involved in various French and European research projects among which are Quaero, Infom@gic, NoEs Kspace and 3DLife, and IPs REVERIE and VERVE.
